. 25 Answers SOURCE: Apparently I didn't read the directions for code search closely enough (as it does work for my tv). So I will post them here, just to be sure people don't make the same mistake I did. With the Device on; 1) Press 'TV' on the remote control 2) Press and Hold the 'Setup' button until the light blinks twice 3) Enter '9' '9' '1' to enter code search mode on the remote 4) Press the the 'CH+' slowly until your TV turns off (if you accidently go to far your can press 'CH-' to go back a code or two) 5) Press the 'Setup' key to lock in the code, the light should blink twice if done correctly Your device is now programmed, enjoy!

The tech had me unplug my TV, take the batteries out of the remote (TV remote not cable) and press all buttons on the remote (including the buttons under the flip top at the bottom of the remote). I did this, put the batteries back in and plugged in the tv and everything worked. I had gone 4 months having to use the surround sound for volume and turning the TV on and off by hand. This took 2 minutes to fix. Posted on Jun 22, 2010.
Before resetting the Sharp replacement remote, please take the following into account: If you have ever sent in your remote control to our Upgrade Service for an update, these codes will be erased as well. In that case, it is highly advised not to perform a factory reset.
To reset your remote to the manufacturer's setting, please follow the procedure outlined below:. Remove a battery from the remote and press a button with it removed. Reinsert the battery ā the LED should blink twice.
Press the digits 2 and 8 simultaneously within 6 seconds ā the LED should blink twice and stays on. Enter the code 9 8 1, the LED will blink 4 times. The remote is now reset to its factory defaults. You can now setup your remote again. N.B: The procedure must be performed within 6 seconds of applying power to the remote, that is, inserting batteries. After 6 seconds of Power it will not activate.
Quote: The frequency and color of the blinks will indicate the issue. There is a hold-down button sequence to try to backdoor your way into the set to see if the panel will light. You may have simply racked up too many 'weird tuner faults' and need to reset it. My suspicion is that it's either that or bad panel backlight. Unplug set, press and hold (on set) volume-down and channel-down and hold them while pluging in set.
Will come on with 'k' on screen, or will crash again if backlight bad. If it stays on, use your remote and arrow right then look for 'fact init' and any other reset and turn them on. Arrow back up to 'fact init' and hit enter. Let set recycle to green and unplug/re-plug in 5 seconds: the set should be in OOB state. This was from a closed post in this forum.guess i fall under the bad backlight group.
CONFUSED SHARPLY said: My LC60LE64OU SHARP AQUOS TV WAS TURNED ON BRIEFLY THEN IT TURNED OFF INDEFINITELY WITH THE POWER BUTTON FLASHING. TRIED UNPLUGGING WHILE HOLDING THE VOL UP/DWN BUTTONS THEN RE PLUGGED THEN RELEASED THE BUTTONS.
NOTHING HAPPENED EXCEPT THE SAME FLASHING. So, i got the 70' version, every time the power goes out the.@ing light on the bottom blinks and it won't turn on. Unplug, hold power button, plug in.
If that doesn't work, unplug all the HDMI cables, unplug the power, hold power button, plug back in. Thats whats worked for me - hope it helps someone out. Gonna get a sony next time, that one has lasted over 7 years. CONFUSED SHARPLY said: My LC60LE64OU SHARP AQUOS TV WAS TURNED ON BRIEFLY THEN IT TURNED OFF INDEFINITELY WITH THE POWER BUTTON FLASHING. I have a Sharp LC37SB24U 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV that uses this remote control (GA667WJSA) that had the same problem. The red light would not even blink when I press on. At first I thought it was batteries, but after replacing with new batteries still no go. Then I bought two universal controls (I admit they're not the expensive kind) and could not find the program codes after hours of playing with thsi. Finally ran into this site and I applaud whoever came up with this brilliant solution. It works very, very well.
Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!! Saved me hours from finding the right universal control. It works very, very well. Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!! Saved me hours from finding the right universal control. Ok I just dealt with the Sharp customer support for this problem. 1) You need to unplug the TV for 1 full minute and remove the batteries from your remote aswell (this will reset the system) 2) Hold the power button on the remote for 30 seconds with the batteries still out of the remote and the TV still unplugged 3) After the 30 seconds replace batteries then press every button on the remote beginning with the power button in order from left to right and top to bottom (same way you read) 4) Then plug your tv back in and try the remote again. And the remote and TV should be back in sync.

Hello, I just wanted to turn my tv on from standby mode and the standby light disappeared and the tv isnt giving any signs of life. I'm searching the internet for cases just like this and I read that is recommended to plug it out, wait and plug it back in again. This doesn't seem to do the trick. Im getting a bit restless.
Its a Sharp LCD tv that I bought around 3 years ago. Haven't had any problems with it. Didn't even have to change the batteries in the remote control yet. Does anybody know anythings I can do? Maybe im not resetting it properly when I got it plugged out?
